OS/400 (now known as IBM i, previously i5/OS) is the operating system of the AS/400 (now Power Systems, previously System i) series of minicomputers by IBM. It is the replacement for CPF for the System/38 and SSP for the System/36. The IBM System i is a family of midrange computers from IBM. It was first introduced as the AS/400 (Application System/400) in June 1988, alongside the OS/400 operating system. It was intended as the successor to IBM's System/36 and System/38 platforms.
